Hook 'n Cook!
Hook ’n Cook is our most popular activity and is a wonderful mix of fishing, snorkelling, island food, and local storytelling. You’ll head by boat to the outer reef to fish for lunch, then snorkel in the reef waters to see the fish in their natural habitat before returning to the island for a barbecue cook-up with our guide, Freddy. During the experience, Freddy will share local stories, climb a coconut tree to collect fresh coconut juice, and show you how to husk coconuts and make coconut cream for cooking!
Monster Tubing
The Monster Tube is a towable inflatable ride that can take up to three adults at a time. Mere will tow you behind the boat, fling you around, get you airborne, and do her best to whip you off the tube. It is excellent fun for big kids and little kids alike.
Narara Riverslide
The Narara Waterslide is a fantastic day trip to the mainland, followed by a ride by troop carrier to Narara Village. On arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a traditional sevusevu ceremony, where the villagers invite you into their village and you share a bowl of kava in the traditional way. From there, it is about a 20-minute walk up to the waterslide area, where there are several natural rock slides and a beautiful place to jump into the cool freshwater. On the way home, you can also stop in Rakiraki to visit the markets or buy a bula shirt or dress.
Fijian Deep Tissue Massage
Unwind with a deeply relaxing Fijian Deep Tissue Massage in the comfort of your villa or by the sea. It's the perfect way to slow down, switch off, and embrace the gentle rhythm of island life, especially after an exciting day of Monster Tubing or enjoying a delicious Reef to Plate dining experience.
Lovo Party!
The Lovo Party is a wonderful experience and something we often recommend for your last night on the island. In the afternoon, our staff prepare the traditional underground cooking pit, called a lovo, and you are welcome to sit back and watch or join in as they prepare fish, chicken, and local foods wrapped in coconut leaves. Everything is then slow-cooked in the earth oven, and later you can enjoy the meal with the staff, share some kava, and relax into a very special island evening.
Nakorokoula Meke Night
The Meke Night includes the lovo-style island evening, but we also bring a group from the local village to perform traditional Fijian singing and dancing, usually with guitars and plenty of energy. Many of our staff are from this village, so it is also a lovely opportunity to meet more of the local community. You can decide during your stay whether you would like to do it, but it is a great night and highly recommended — especially for a celebration.
Dolphin Discovery
The Dolphin Discovery Trip is a longer adventure out to a remote sand spit on the far outer reef, where it's common to see a pod of up to 40 dolphins at a time. along the way you can troll for fish, enjoy the open water, and possibly hook something massive! Once you arrive at the sand spit, you’ll have lunch in a beautiful remote setting surrounded by reef and ocean. A day to remember!
Island Discovery Tour
The Island Discovery Tour is a relaxed way to explore the island and surrounding area, and is especially suitable for visitors coming from the mainland who want a taste of island life. It gives guests a chance to see the coastline, enjoy the scenery, learn a little about local life, and experience the natural beauty of Nananu-i-Ra and the surrounding waters at an easy pace.
